Perched at over 9,000 feet, Mountain Village is a relatively new community with no buildings that are more than 15 years old. A European mountain feel permeates the atmosphere as you wander through the Mountain Village’s pedestrian center which is filled with high-end retail shops, sport shops, restaurants and luxury hotels and condominiums. Mountain Village provides a nice contrast to the rustic Victorian feel of the Town of Telluride, and the two are connected by a free gondola service that runs year-round.
Mountain Village encompasses a much larger geographic area than Telluride, and was designed around the Telluride Ski Resort with lots big enough to accommodate larger homes and an 18-hole golf course. Ski runs meander through the town, giving may homes, condominiums and hotels direct access to the resort. Full-time and part-time residents enjoy the privacy, ski access, golf course and sun-soaked views of the Sophia Ridge to the South and Mt. Wilson to the North.
