The Norwood Department of Commerce calls their town a ‘Cozy Cowboy Town with Year-Round Outdoor Fun.’ While towns like Telluride and Ridgway have moved away from their old western roots, Norwood has retained its pastoral charm. At 7,000 feet, Norwood maintains a milder climate than Telluride, but that does not take away from the explosive views in every direction, the La Sal Mountains to the west, the Uncompahgre Plateau to the north, the San Juan and San Miguel Mountains in the east, and Lone Cone Mountain to the south.
In and around Norwood, prices for homes start around $200,000 and can reach over $5 million for a 400+ acre ranch located just 10 minutes to town. Land can be found for just $50,000 for a smaller lot, and over $2 million for hundreds of acres.
