A few good winter storms in the past few weeks have left us with great skiing under classic blue skies and everyone is anticipating a busy President's Week with Telluride and Mountain Village expected to be full!
Conversations in and around Telluride continue to be dominated by the Valley Floor debate and everyone's curious as to which way the town will vote in tomorrow's special election. We'll be sure to let you know what happens in the March newsletter!
In the
meantime, the local papers have finally gotten around to publishing
stories on the record real estate sales in 2005. Jim is quoted extensively
in the Telluride Watch's article,
and we've included a copy below.
In other Real Estate Affiliates news, we welcome Dave Pihlgren, small business entrepreneur, former office manager at Telluride Properties and newly-licensed real estate broker, to the Real Estate Affiliates team, and bid goodbye to Mike Wentworth.
Our
featured listing this month is Bridgecreek.
Bridgecreek was one of three mountain homes featured in the February
2006 Colorado Homes & Lifestyles article "3 Mountain
Homes, Colorado Styles," detailing different approaches to building
in the high country. Bridgecreek was also named one of the "10
Top Properties In and Around the Town of Telluride" in the February
2006 Mountain Living and included in the real estate section
accompanying a feature on Telluride. For more information on Bridgecreek
or copies of either of these articles, contact Jim
Lucarelli.
We hope
you're able to make it to town sometime in the next couple months, the
skiing is great and there's certainly a lot going on. If you do find
yourself in Telluride, we would love to see you. Feel free to stop by
our office at your convenience.

County Real Estate Sales Set New Record
$725 Million Easily Bests 2004 Record » |
 |
The Telluride Watch
Published: 2/3/06
By Peter Kenworthy
The local real estate market has gone from hot to hotter. County real estate sales soared to a new record in 2005, topping the prior annual record set in 2004 by better than $100 million. According to statistics compiled by Judi Kiernan of Telluride Consulting, total sales for the year were $724.8 million, a dollar volume rise of 17 percent over 2004. The number of sales for the year also exceeded the 2004 total but by a smaller percentage of just 4 percent. The 2005 results are, by coincidence, exactly consistent with a 10-year market trend, tracked by Kiernan, which reveals a compound annual growth in dollar terms of 17 percent, countywide, and a 4 percent compound annual growth in unit sales.

Days Are Here Again!
Telluride Boasts 25 Inches in Last Week » |
 |
|
The Telluride Watch
Published: 1/31/06
By
Martinique Davis
Adrenaline-laced
hoots and hollers from the powder-choked mouths of gleeful skiers
and riders reverberated across the slopes this week, as 25 inches
of fresh snow blanketed the Telluride Ski Resort over the past
seven days.
The
arrival of those mostly unanticipated inches have put the Telluride
Ski Resort's base total close to the golden” amount
of 60 inches. After Friday night's unexpected 13 inches, an additional
four on Saturday night and then another four inches on Sunday,
the base total at the top of the mountain now hovers around 59
inches.
